Process and organisational audit of power system operation
As part of the in-depth review of the situation in electrical grid operation, the relevant critical aspects were analysed, including the power grid configuration, the tools for system management, the training and continuing education of the operating personnel, and safety awareness and risk management. Structured expert interviews were used to identify and evaluate weaknesses, in order to formulate targeted measures for sustained optimisation. Realignment of programme structure
I was happy to take on the challenge of supporting my group of clients in developing a new specialist IT platform for transmission system operators (TSOs). In the dynamic European regulatory environment, a number of challenges had to be overcome in order to precisely define future requirements. Together, we structured, scheduled and prioritised the complex topics in order to optimise the programme set-up. Particular attention was paid to the operational consequences for processes and employees. Following a successful EU-wide call for tenders, the platform has now successfully launched its first modules. I am convinced that this project will significantly increase efficiency and support TSOs in Europe.
Ad-Interim Management Technical Director
Landos took on the mandate to compensate for the unexpected short-term absence of a member of the management board at a major Swiss municipal utility company. In close collaboration with the CEO, the priority issues in the division concerned were identified and a focused, thorough start-up phase was established. After several months of successful management, the re-entry of the directorate member was carefully prepared and gradually implemented. The measures ensured continuity in the performance of tasks and promoted effective team dynamics in the technology and engineering division.
Future-proof positioning of the power grid division
The cooperation with the local electricity supplier was characterised by anticipated technical, administrative and personnel challenges in the coming years. After quantifying and modelling the expected technical and economic developments, which take into account the increasing integration of renewable energies and the predicted decarbonisation, a robust financial model was developed. In close cooperation with the client, organisational solutions were developed that meet specific local requirements, ensure long-term security of supply, define staffing requirements and lay a solid economic foundation for the long term.
Operationalisation of business processes after reorganisation
Successful support for the transformation at one of Germany's leading municipal utilities comprised various aspects. The systematic implementation of new processes and the careful design of interfaces ensured a smooth introduction after the reorganisation of the main technical units. Particular attention was paid to supporting employees in order to overcome uncertainties and promote commitment. In addition, various critical special-interest topics were moderated. Landos' support and guidance not only contributed to the successful achievement of the reorganisation objectives, but also to the sustainable embedding of change in a crucial transformation phase.
Implementation support for control system replacement
As part of a challenging project for a medium-sized municipal utility company that ensures the regional supply of electricity, gas and water, Landos was able to successfully support and assist in the complete replacement of the control system. Consistently enforcing the customer's technical requirements with suppliers ensured the quality and efficiency of the project. By identifying potential implementation risks at an early stage, it was possible to initiate targeted and timely measures to ensure a smooth system changeover during operation. Pragmatic and reliable project documentation contributed to the customer's satisfaction, as did support in interpreting the technical contracts. Thanks to careful planning and neutral support during customer acceptance, the new control system was successfully implemented.
